  • Claims of actual innocence (i.e. we do not work on cases where it is claimed that convictions for murder should have been for manslaughter), priority given to post-tariff prisoners maintaining innocence, although alleged innocence victims of wrongful conviction that have been released from prison on “life licence” or who may not have received a custodial sentence are eligible for allocation to member innocence projects, must have completed the appeals process, priority given to applicants without legal representation, but will work on cases with an existing legal team if they are willing to be assisted by a member innocence project

    • cases that have not been appealed or that are waiting an appeal decision

    • cases in which the defendant admits to a lesser charge or is seeking a reduction in sentence
